Not just an editor. A visual storyteller.
I'm Subho Basak, professionally known as DamnSubh. I'm into editing, motion design and visual storytelling, which is a fancy way of saying I stare at timelines for hours and genuinely enjoy it.
(short so far, give it time)
My journey
Started learning
Started learning video editing and motion design. Opened Premiere Pro. Closed it. Opened it again.
Began working professionally
Began working professionally as a video editor and motion graphics designer. Someone paid me. I'm still emotional about it.
Tripjyada
Video editing and motion design experience at Tripjyada. The full story is still rendering.
Real-world projects
Started gaining experience on real creative and commercial projects. Real clients, real deadlines, real "one small change" requests.
Still developing
Currently developing my skills in video editing and motion design. Level up in progress. Please don't turn off the console.
Good editing isn't about adding more. It's about making every frame matter.
Story before effects.
If an effect doesn't help the story, it goes. Yes, even the really cool one.
Timing matters.
Two frames late and the joke dies. I've seen it happen. It wasn't pretty.
Motion should have a purpose.
If it moves, it should be going somewhere. Unlike most meetings.
Sound is part of the visual experience.
Mute a horror film and it's just people walking slowly into rooms.
Small details make the difference.
Nobody notices them. Everybody feels them. That's the whole job.

What's next
More learning, more experiments, more real projects, and fewer files called “final_FINAL_v3”. Probably. Okay, maybe not that last one. Each edit should be a little sharper than the one before it.
